Job Description

Pride Chevrolet is seeking an experienced, full-time, in-house body shop appraiser for its body shop located on the Lynnway in Lynn MA. Summary

Appraises vehicle damage to determine cost of repair for insurance claim settlement.

Essential Duties

• Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical, electrical or interior damage.
• Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
• Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman.
• Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders and doors.
• Evaluates practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident.
• Determines salvage value on total vehicle loss.
• Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
• Estimates cost of repainting, converting to special purposes or customizing undamaged vehicles.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of prior experience as a collision estimator or insurance appraiser
• Experience uploading estimates/photos and communicating with multiple insurance companies
• Proficient in use of CCC-1 estimating software
• Have a current and valid Appraiser’s License and Driver’s License
• Comfortable with continuous customer communications
