The Rose Andom Center, Colorado’s first family justice center, enhances the lives of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors by providing streamlined access to comprehensive services through a collaborative model. In a single, safe location, community organizations and government agencies work together to serve individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Position Details:

  • Job Title: Bilingual Children and Youth Wellness Advocate
  • Reports To: Children and Youth Services Program Manager
  • Location: Denver, Colorado – In-person (occasional work-from-home as option) with some evenings and weekends; full availability required during the first week of August for Camp HOPE
  • Salary Range: $21-29 hourly, DOE, Full-time (Non-Exempt)

Position Summary:

The Bilingual Children and Youth Wellness Coordinator plays a key role in expanding the Rose Andom Center’s Children and Youth Services through emotional well-being support, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed programming. This position will help children and youth impacted by domestic violence build resilience and process trauma through group workshops, guided reflection, and emotional mentorship—especially within the Pathways Program and Camp HOPE America–Colorado.

This role includes direct support for monthly group programming, crisis intervention, curriculum development, and support during the week-long summer camp, along with related administrative and outreach responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Mental Health Support & Trauma-Informed Care

  • Provide trauma-informed emotional support across all youth programming
  • Facilitate social-emotional check-ins, group debriefs, and support with youth participants
  • Administer Adverse Childhood Experiences surveys and youth screening tools
  • Track Hope Scores
  • Identify youth in need of therapy or additional services
  • Maintain group notes and share concerns with Program Manager

Program Development & Implementation

  • Plan and co-lead monthly Pathways events focused on emotional growth and peer connection
  • Develop and expand age-appropriate, hope-centered curriculum
  • Partner with community organizations to co-facilitate social-emotional processing groups
  • Support program evaluation and feedback collection

Camp HOPE (April–August)

  • Be fully available for Camp HOPE (first week of August)
  • Train volunteers on trauma-informed care and how to support youth well-being at Camp
  • Provide youth support, conduct readiness screenings, and respond to emotional support needs
  • Assist with counselor training and camp planning/programming (campfire talks, cabin arrangements, scheduling/activities)
  • Serve as primary emotional support person during week of Camp

Youth Engagement & Mentorship

  • Build strong, culturally responsive relationships with youth and families
  • Provide mentorship, foster leadership, and support youth-led initiatives
  • Create safe, inclusive spaces for self-expression and connection

Administrative Tasks & Outreach

  • Track attendance and maintain grant documentation
  • Send bilingual family communications and assist with youth intakes
  • Collect and analyze feedback for program improvement
  • Perform other duties as needed to support program goals

Job Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Experience working with youth exposed to trauma or domestic violence
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, Adverse Childhood Experiences, and youth well-being
  • Year-round residence in the Denver Metro Area
  • Availability during Camp HOPE and monthly evening/weekend programming
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating youth group work (e.g., SEL, peer circles, support groups)
  • Knowledge or training on youth social emotional wellbeing dynamics
  • Familiarity with Denver-area youth services and resources
  • Event planning and family engagement experience
  • High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and creativity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for working with youth in dynamic, strengths-based environments

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Compensation and Benefits:

The hiring range for this position is: $21-29 hourly, based on experience and education, with a language differential for Spanish-speaking staff. This position may include some remote flexibility and requires occasional travel and weekend/evening hours.
