AVAILABLE: Immediately.  This is a full-time position. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

SALARY/RANK: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduation or GED equivalency. Two years experience as a law enforcement officer required, preferably at a higher education institution.  Must possess a valid driver's license. Pennsylvania Act 235 certification required (Act 235 certification may be obtained within 6 months of hire). ACT 120 certification preferred.  Candidate should possess knowledge of the techniques of criminal investigation, including report writing.  Candidate should possess strong analytical and communication skills and have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various constituent groups.  Demonstrated organizational skills, and is capable of working independently. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University's Mission, and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Job responsibilities will include providing for the safety of students, faculty, and staff and the security of all university buildings and property by preserving law and order and enforcing regulations.  Responds to emergency situations on campus and serves as primary point of contact in absence of the Director of the Department of Public Safety.  Routinely performs foot and mobile patrols to insure security of university or university lots, buildings and property.  Controls traffic including issuing parking violations to insure smooth flow of traffic.  Conducts training and orientation courses as needed for contracted employees and University staff.
