Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will prepare high-quality meals according to established recipes and ensure that all food is prepared safely, efficiently, and attractively. The Cook will play a key role in maintaining kitchen organization, ensuring consistency in food quality, and supporting the overall dining experience for our guests.
Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas.
Assist in the development of new menu items and daily specials.
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or equipment issues to the Kitchen Manager or Head Chef.
Store food properly and maintain accurate labeling and rotation (FIFO).
Collaborate with other kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth and timely meal service.
Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
Assist with receiving and inspecting deliveries of food and supplies.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school training preferred.
Proven experience as a Cook or similar role in a restaurant, cafeteria, or catering environment.
Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen processes.
Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
