Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Dishwasher to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are sanitized and ready for use. This position is essential in supporting our kitchen staff and enhancing the overall dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils using commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, and disposing of trash.
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including prepping ingredients for cooks and chefs.
• Help with bussing tables and clearing away used dishes during peak service times to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Follow all food safety guidelines and procedures for food handling to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
• Support catering events by ensuring that all necessary items are cleaned and organized for service.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and maintain a positive atmosphere in the kitchen.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Experience in food preparation or culinary roles is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
• Knowledge of basic food handling practices within a hospitality or catering setting is beneficial.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
• Flexibility to assist in various kitchen tasks as needed, demonstrating a proactive approach to helping others.

Physical Requirements (Required)

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions
• Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, water, and cleaning chemicals
