About RightMove

RightMove is redefining how value-based musculoskeletal (MSK) care is delivered. Built in partnership with the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS)—the world leader in MSK health trusted by elite athletes—we're creating a new standard of coordinated, expert-led care that gets people moving better and faster.

We partner with PCPs, Orthopedic specialists, and health plans to deliver high-value, patient-centered MSK care. Our value-based care model includes patient engagement, virtual physical therapy, and care navigation to high-value imaging and specialty partners.

Our Mission & Values

We're a high-performing team driven by one mission: to free people to move and thrive. At RightMove, we move fast, collaborate deeply, and deliver with precision. We're a startup with enterprise-grade rigor—where talented operators, engineers and clinicians challenge conventions to improve patient outcomes.

We live our values every day:

  • Perform to Win – We bring our best to deliver measurable results, valuing impact over optics.
  • Be Direct with Respect – We communicate clearly, with honesty and care.
  • Move as One Team – We win together, across roles and functions.
  • Act with Agency – Our teams have high trust and high accountability, with the freedom to own and responsibility to deliver.
  • Choose Optimism – We bring energy and perspective, even when the work is hard.

What You'll Do

Core Development & Delivery

  • Build, test, and deploy scalable full stack applications using Next.js/React, Node.js, and AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3).
  • Translate product and design requirements into performant, secure, and maintainable code.
  • Partner with Product to deliver roadmap commitments on schedule with strong testing and documentation standards.
  • Own key portions of the CI/CD pipeline to ensure reliable, automated delivery.

Cloud Architecture & DevOps

  • Architect and maintain cloud infrastructure leveraging Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation).
  • Manage application monitoring, logging, and performance tuning across environments.
  • Contribute to scaling strategy and cost optimization in AWS.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement best practices for data protection, encryption, and identity management.
  • Support SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance through secure code and infrastructure design.
  • Collaborate on policies and automation to ensure “privacy and safety by design.”

Collaboration & Culture

  • Work closely with Design, Product, and Clinical teams to align technology decisions with business goals.
  • Participate in peer reviews and mentoring to raise the technical bar across the team.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, retrospectives, and postmortems.

Must-Haves

  • 8+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years in full stack web application development.
  • Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services (compute, storage, security, networking).
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.) and automated testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress).
  • Exposure to LLM/AI-driven services
  • Proven track record shipping production systems with measurable business impact.
  • High ownership mindset—able to operate autonomously and thrive in ambiguity.
  • Familiarity with EHR/FHIR integrations or healthcare data models.

Preferred

  • Experience with Next.js (SSR), microservices, or event-driven architectures.
