Description A mission-driven nonprofit organization in Encinitas is looking for a compassionate and organized Human Resources Generalist to join their people and culture team. This individual will serve as a key resource to employees and leadership, ensuring equitable HR practices, compliance, and a welcoming workplace culture that reflects the organization's community values. Responsibilities: + Coordinate all recruitment efforts including job postings, interviews, and onboarding of new hires. + Manage benefits administration, leave requests, and personnel changes. + Support managers with employee relations and coaching conversations. + Maintain HR records and assist with annual audits and reporting. + Implement DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives and employee engagement programs. + Conduct training sessions on workplace conduct, harassment prevention, and compliance topics. + Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate payroll and benefits deductions. + Support HR Director with policy development and organizational planning. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field preferred. + Minimum 2-4 years of HR generalist experience, ideally in a nonprofit or service-based organization. + Strong communication and empathy skills; approachable and solution-focused. + Experience with Paylocity or other HRIS systems. + Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws. + Passion for community impact and employee well-being.
