**Description** SAIC is seeking a **Junior Automated Software Test Engineer** supporting the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) in support of the Interoperability Engineering System (IES) in **Huntsville, AL.** We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Automated Tester to join our team working on the IES software. This position is perfect for candidates with a foundational understanding of software testing and a passion for ensuring quality in software applications. As an Automated Tester, you will play a critical role in verifying the functionality and performance of IES. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Develop and execute automated test scripts using JavaScript to validate system functionality and performance. + Collaborate with developers and project stakeholders to identify testing needs and clarify requirements. + Document and track defects using a bug tracking system, ensuring clear communication of issues. + Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and scripts. + Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues found during testing. + Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. + Utilize Git for version control, managing test scripts and related documentation. + Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in software testing. **Qualifications** **Education Requirement:** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or six (6) years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree. **Clearance Requirements:** + Must possess an active Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required. **Required Skills:** + Familiarity with automated testing tools; Squish. + Basic knowledge of JavaScript for writing and modifying test scripts. + Understanding of version control systems, particularly Git. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Coursework or projects related to software testing or quality assurance. + Exposure to software development life cycles (SDLC) and agile methodologies. + Experience with additional programming languages or testing frameworks is a plus. + Knowledge of Squish is a bonus.
