The Network & Cyber Engineer is responsible for maintaining a secure, reliable, and high-performance network infrastructure while also supporting core cybersecurity functions. This role expands the scope to combine network engineering with approximately 30% cybersecurity responsibilities. The ideal candidate has experience with firewalls, routing/switching, network access controls, and hands-on security operations in a fast-paced environment.
Manage and optimize network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless networks, and VPNs.
Configure and maintain enterprise firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco).
Oversee network provisioning, segmentation, and access control policies.
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
Support core security operations, including incident response and vulnerability management.
Configure and maintain email security, endpoint security, and other cyber tools.
Participate in phishing-training programs, access audits, and compliance-related tasks.
Assist with developing and enforcing security policies, monitoring for threats, and escalating critical issues.
Partner with IT leadership on strategic improvements.
Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments.
Document configurations, changes, and procedures following established change-control requirements.
4–7+ years of experience in network engineering or security engineering.
Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and network infrastructure.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity tools and best practices.
Ability to operate effectively in a high-energy, fast-moving environment.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience in logistics, distribution, or other fast-paced operational industries.
Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks.
Security certifications (Security+, CEH, GSEC, etc.) are a plus.
