Senior Estimator
Location: Houston, TX
About the Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a dynamic and growing heavy civil construction team. This role is perfect for a professional with a strong background in estimating projects involving site development, underground utilities, boring, horizontal drilling, dewatering systems, and deep foundations.
The ideal candidate will also have a passion for leveraging construction technology and play a key role in implementing software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop accurate cost estimates for projects focused on boring, horizontal drilling, and other heavy civil construction scopes.
* Review project plans, specifications, and scopes to ensure comprehensive estimates.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to define project budgets and assess risks.
* Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements.
* Lead efforts to research and recommend new construction software and technologies.
* Maintain and update cost databases to reflect current market conditions.
* Mentor and support junior estimating staff.
What We're Looking For:
* At least 7 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
* Proven expertise in site, utilities, and horizontal drilling is essential.
* Familiarity with earth retention, pile driving, and dewatering systems.
* Proficient in construction estimating software and knowledgeable about emerging technology trends in construction.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
